I wanted to work in Camden because I had worked with colleagues who had worked in MH teams in Camden before.
Each had always spoken very highly of the support from managers here, about the support they had in safeguarding, staff really working with people towards their recovery goals, as well as access to training. All of these things are really important to me, and I’m really pleased to see that my former colleagues were right. Although I’ve joined a team that is going through a difficult period in terms of staffing, everyone has been very supportive, and really open to answering each of my many random questions. It’s always a little scary starting a new job, especially in social work, but it’s a really nice feeling to move somewhere and have that support, and to know pretty early on that you’ve made the right choice.
